What services do you offer?

I offer individual virtual therapy for adults (18+) anywhere in California. My work is focused on ADHD and the experiences that often come alongside it: anxiety, low mood, burnout, and the exhaustion of spending years feeling like you have to work twice as hard just to keep up. I also work with people who do not have ADHD, and need help with life transitions, low mood, trauma, and anxiety. Bilingual sessions available in English and Spanish.
What does ADHD therapy look like?

ADHD isn't something that gets "treated" and goes away, it's a neurodevelopmental difference in how your brain is wired. Therapy doesn't change that, and it's not meant to. What it does is help you understand your brain, release a lot of the shame and self-blame that tends to build up over time, and build a way of living that actually works for you.
Sessions look like regular therapy, but with a strong focus on psychoeducation — learning about how ADHD actually works, unlearning some of the stories you've been told about yourself, and practicing mindfulness and self-compassion in ways that are realistic for the ADHD brain. Many clients find that just understanding why they do the things they do is itself a turning point.
Do you specialize in ADHD for women?

Yes! Particularly for women and adults who were diagnosed later in life. ADHD in women is frequently missed or misdiagnosed because it often looks different than the textbook presentation. Many of my clients spent years being told they were too sensitive, too scattered, or just not trying hard enough. They got things done, but at a cost. If that resonates, you're in the right place.
What is ACT and why do you use it for ADHD?

ACT stands for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. It focuses on acceptance, mindfulness, and value-driven behaviors to increase psychological flexibility. For ADHD, this approach is particularly helpful because it doesn't ask you to think your way out of your brain — it helps you build a different relationship with your thoughts and experiences, and use your own values as a compass when everything feels overwhelming or unclear. Instead of fighting against how your brain works, we work with it.
Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work with you?

No. I work with clients who have a formal diagnosis and with those who suspect they might have ADHD but haven't been evaluated yet. If you're in the process of figuring that out, we can explore what you're experiencing in session and I can point you toward resources for formal testing. You don't need a diagnosis to start, you just need to feel like something isn't adding up.
What's the difference between ADHD therapy and ADHD coaching?

Therapy and coaching are related but different services. Therapy is a clinical service, meaning it involves exploring your mental health history, addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, or other experiences that often travel alongside ADHD, and working through deeper patterns. It's provided by a licensed clinician and is held to clinical and ethical standards.
Coaching is a forward-focused, skills-based service. It tends to center on goal-setting, accountability, executive function strategies, and practical systems without the clinical framework. Coaching is a good fit for people who are generally functioning well and want to optimize; therapy is a better fit when there's more to untangle emotionally or clinically.

Do you offer therapy in Spanish?

Yes, I offer fully bilingual sessions in English and Spanish. And if Spanglish feels more natural and comfortable in the moment, that's completely welcome too. Language shouldn't be a barrier to feeling understood.
Do you take insurance?

The Mindful Garden is a small, private pay practice that allows me to focus on you and your care without the limits of insurance, which allows more flexibility, depth, and personalized care. I do not bill insurance directly, but I can provide superbills for potential reimbursement. If you're looking to use insurance, I may have limited availability through third-party platforms. Can I use my FSA or HSA for sessions?

HSA and FSA funds can typically be used for therapy sessions — I accept both as payment methods. That said, plans vary, so if you have specific questions about your coverage or eligibility, it's worth a quick check with your plan administrator before we begin.
How does the superbill process work?

I provide superbills at the end of each month. A superbill is a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Whether and how much your insurance reimburses depends on your specific plan. I'd encourage you to contact your insurance directly before we start to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits, so you know what to expect. I'm happy to answer any questions about the superbill itself.
What happens during the free 15-minute consultation call?

The 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure conversation. There is no commitment required. I'll briefly ask about what's bringing you to therapy, your goals, and a little about your mental health history to make sure I'm the right fit for what you're looking for. We'll also cover scheduling and how payments work, and you'll have space to ask me anything about my approach or my practice. It's as much for you to get a feel for me as it is for me to understand your needs. Finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is the most important part of the therapy process.
